Hope Sharp is a figurative artist who paints in oil. She began her journey into live event painting after spending a year painting dancers live in the studio. It was when she was invited by a friend to paint during her daughter’s wedding that she fell in love with this work and created Luxury Wedding Painter.
With a BFA from the prestigious Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, an MFA in painting from Johnson State College in Vermont — and over twenty years studying under renowned painter, Billy Brauer, Hope is classically trained, and her art reflects both her technical virtuosity and her contemporary sensibilities.
Hope Sharp’s work is held in numerous private collections nationally (in California, Vermont, Texas and Florida) and internationally (in the Bahamas and Switzerland) — and she has exhibited her work in New York City. While a student at Pratt, Hope worked in the wedding industry as a photographer and floral designer. More recently, she has taught drawing and painting at Northern Vermont University. She is based in Montpelier, Vermont, and travels extensively for her work.
Joseph Loccisano is a contemporary visual artist with an extensive exhibition record and his artwork is held in numerous public and private collections in the U.S.
Loccisano is known for his exquisite draftsmanship and for subjects that reveal his love of portraiture, nature, history, science, and literature. He loves drawing ‘live’ on-location at weddings because “when drawing someone, I get to experience their uniqueness — and spend a profound moment in time honoring their individuality.”
He has taught at Ringling College of Art and Design, Nova Southeastern University, New College of Florida, The Printmaking Workshop (NYC), and State College of Florida where he served as gallery director from 1987 to 2017. Loccisano holds a BA, MA, and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. He is a peer reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums, a lecturer, art consultant, and independent curator. He lives and works in Montpelier, Vermont and Sarasota, Florida.

Get to Know Hope Sharp, the Artist Behind These Custom Wedding Paintings
Hope is amazing and did an awesome job. She came prepared and was professional, punctual and fun to be around. She painted the most marvelous painting of the bride and groom. She was open to any ideas the bride and groom (well actually the mother of the bride) had and painted a glorious painting. They are thrilled and so are their parents! I would hire her back in a second. She's also reasonably priced!

...The painting of 'First Dance as a Married Couple' is the first thing my Son-in-law shows people who come to visit their home, and he refers to it as "my favorite gift". We have it's sister painting (of our other two daughters, dancing with a niece) displayed in our home, and I find myself saying much the same thing. What can't be communicated in photographs of the paintings themselves, although Hope's others, showcased on her website, are every bit as beautiful as the ones we own, is the beauty of Hope's very presence. She has a way of subtly moving onto the scene and becoming a part of the evolving Art. Poised and with grace, not detracting from The Bride and Groom in any way, she is obviously in love with the work, all the while. I sincerely believe in her and her gifts and abilities to deliver priceless tokens of life's treasured moments.

I heard about Hope through a friend and contracted with her to paint at my cousin's wedding as a gift. The final products were absolutely stunning keepsakes that my cousin and her family will treasure forever. Hope created three elegant, subtly abstract paintings of the day - my cousin's first dance with her new husband, the scene right after they said 'I do', and a precious moment between my cousin and her mother as she was helping her button her wedding dress. In addition to being incredibly talented, Hope is a lovely, kind person, and a true professional. Somehow she managed to capture the day perfectly while remaining practically invisible. I cannot recommend Hope highly enough. Her work is worth the investment and then some.
